3edata participates in the SmartAgriHubs Project of the EU Horizon 2020 Programme.
This Horizon 2020 project aims to release the innovative potential for digital transformation of the European agri-food sector. In its development, 140 Digital Innovation Hubs have been created, distributed in 9 regional clusters, which focus on 5 agri-food sectors for which a total of 28 innovative cutting-edge experiments will be generated..
The project has a budget of 20 million euros and will be developed from 2018 to 2022.
SmartAgriHubs brings together different experiences and involves a wide value chain network covering all EU member states. The consortium includes a wide network of start-ups, SMEs, service providers and companies, technology experts and end-users. The end users of the agri-food sector are the core of the project and the driving force behind the digital transformation.
In the Iberian cluster, in which 3edata participates, SmartAgriHubs plans to carry out improvements in different stages of the early dairy production chain in Galicia (fodder production, feed mixing and management, stable operations and general resource planning) by exploiting the benefits of digital and data technologies. These improvements will become part of the product and service offerings of the participants, who provide these products and services to the end-users (farmers and cooperatives). These end users are members of the Digital Innovation Hub for the Galician Agrifood sector.
