Yesterday we presented the technological tools Tierra 3 and Tierra 4, innovative projects developed in the Aerospace Hub of Galicia within the Civil UAV initiative of the Xunta de Galicia to provide innovative solutions through the use of drones in the civil area. These projects involve 3edata, University of Santiago de Compostela (Campus Terra from Lugo), COTESA and the Foundation CETEMAS
Both projects are a clear example of the potential of drone applications in the forestry sector. In the event we had the opportunity to present our developments for the treatment and analysis of LiDAR data and multispectral images. All of this is aimed at automating processes in the generation of thematic cartography: Land Occupancy Mapping (SIOSE), Habitats of Community Interest, Forest Mapping and Inventory, Biomass Management and Forest Health.
One more step in the development of the Civil UAVs Inititative, an innovative public procurement program of the Xunta de Galicia, carried out through the Regional Ministry of Economy, Employment and Industry and the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through which the Regional Administration is equipping itself with new technologies capable of responding to its territorial management needs. These solutions will optimize the work being carried out by the Institute of Territorial Studies, the Directorate General of Territorial Planning, the Galician Institute for Housing and Property, Galician Waters, Agader, the Directorate-General for Livestock, Agriculture and Food Industries, the Directorate-General for Natural Heritage, the Directorate-General for Environmental Quality and Climate Change, the Directorate-General for Rural Development or the Directorate-General for Forest Planning and Production.
